Global Payments

Global Payments is a large payments-technology company that processes card and digital transactions for merchants and provides software and issuer-processing services to businesses worldwide. It competes in a consolidating, technology-driven industry alongside players such as Fiserv and FIS, where scale, software integration and merchant relationships are decisive. Despite a long run of dividend continuity, Global Payments keeps its payout small relative to earnings and directs most capital toward acquisitions, integration and buybacks. The yield is low and the dividend has grown only modestly, so it functions as a minor supplement rather than the centerpiece of the investment case. This is fundamentally a growth-and-capital-allocation story in which the dividend plays a limited role.
