About Fortive

Fortive is a diversified industrial technology company built from the 2016 spin-off of Danaher's test and measurement, sensing and industrial workflow businesses. It supplies precision instruments, software and connected hardware to fields such as healthcare, manufacturing and field service, and runs its portfolio through the disciplined operating system it inherited from its parent. Fortive pays only a token dividend and directs most of its cash toward acquisitions, buybacks and reinvestment. The payout has grown modestly since the spin-off, but the yield is minimal and the story is clearly one of capital allocation rather than income. The dividend profile is best read as a small supplement to a compounding-focused industrial rather than a reason to own the shares.
