Amazon is the online-retail giant that reshaped shopping and, through Amazon Web Services, became the world's largest cloud-computing provider, a division that generates the bulk of its operating profit. It also spans advertising, streaming, logistics and devices, and is investing aggressively in artificial intelligence across all of them, making it one of the most influential companies in technology. Amazon has never paid a dividend. It has always reinvested its cash into growth, from warehouses and cloud infrastructure to new business lines, and only recently began returning any capital through modest buybacks. There is no income here, so the stock is owned for its expansion in cloud, retail and AI rather than for yield. Its middling DiviScore simply reflects the absence of a payout, not the strength of the franchise.
