Generac is the leading maker of backup power generators in North America, spanning home standby units, portable and commercial generators, and a growing range of energy-storage and clean-energy products. Demand is tied to grid reliability, extreme weather and the broader shift toward home energy resilience, which makes its sales cyclical and weather-sensitive. Generac only recently initiated a dividend and has a very short payout history, so it cannot be judged as an established income name. The yield is modest and the company continues to prioritize reinvestment, acquisitions and buybacks as it builds out its energy-technology ambitions.
